More hiring than hands.
Calder Talent embeds a senior practitioner in your business, fractionally and monthly: running live roles on your tools, holding the standard on every one, coaching your managers as the work moves. Scoped to the load, and built to leave cleanly when it eases.
What embedded hiring capacity is.
Embedded hiring capacity is a senior recruiter working inside your business for an agreed number of days a month, on your systems and under your name, in place of an agency working outside it for a fee on every hire. Some businesses call it embedded recruitment or fractional talent acquisition. The work is the work an in-house talent lead does. The difference is that it is scoped to the load, senior from the first day, and designed to leave.
Sometimes nothing is broken. There is just more hiring than there are hands, and the choice looks like an agency fee on every role or a permanent hire the load may not justify for long. This is the third option.
The situations we see most.
- 01 · A hiring push with a date on it. Funding has landed, a new site is opening, a team has to exist by the end of the quarter. The roles are real and the internal capacity to run them properly is not there yet.
- 02 · The talent lead has gone, or is drowning. The seat is empty, or one person is carrying a load built for two, and every role is being run at the speed of the busiest week.
- 03 · Agency spend has stopped making sense. The business hires often enough that a fee on every placement is now the most expensive way to do it, and every agency hire arrives without the brief, the scorecard or the notes.
Inside the business, on your tools.
- 01 · Scoped to the load. We agree the roles, the days a month and the finish line before anything starts. When the load moves, the scope moves with it, in writing.
- 02 · Your systems, your name. The practitioner works in your applicant tracking system, your inbox and your calendar. Candidates meet your business, and the record of every conversation stays in your tools.
- 03 · The standard on every role. Each role gets a brief and a scorecard before it opens, the same discipline that runs a Calder Talent search, so the first hire and the fifteenth are held to the same bar.
- 04 · Your managers, coached as the work moves. Interview structure, decision hygiene, the feedback that makes strong candidates say yes: taught on live roles, where it sticks.
- 05 · Built to leave. The brief templates, the scorecards, the interview loop and the pipeline reporting stay with you. When the load eases, we step out cleanly and the machinery keeps running.
Senior only. No lock-in.
The person you meet on the intro call is the person inside your business. No juniors learning on your time, no agency layer between you and the person doing the work. Engagements run month to month with a notice period agreed up front, and nobody stays longer than the work needs.
Terms are agreed on the call, in writing, before any work starts.
When the load is a symptom.
Sometimes the volume is real and the process underneath it is what is broken. The Talent Audit shows you which. And when one role is the one the year leans on, a retained search gives it the depth a live desk cannot.
The Talent Audit Retained search- Is this a recruitment agency? No. An agency works outside your business and is paid on placement. Embedded capacity works inside it, on a scoped monthly basis, and is paid for the work, so it has no reason to fill a seat fast and every reason to fill it well.
- How many days a month? As many as the load needs and no more. Agreed at the start, reviewed monthly, changed in writing.
- Who does the work? The senior practitioner you meet on the intro call. The sourcing, the screening, the interviews, the offers: same person, end to end.
- How quickly can it start? Once the scope is agreed in writing, quickly. The practitioner is senior and already knows the work, so there is no learning curve to pay for.
- What does it cost? Terms are agreed on the call and confirmed in writing before any work starts. No surprises at the end.
- What happens to everything you build? It stays. Briefs, scorecards, interview structure and reporting are built to be reused by your team without us.
